AC Replacement

AC Replacement

AC Replacement in Elk Grove by Crystal Blue

We know how important AC maintenance is. However, sometimes some maintenance won’t be enough to get it through the summer. Nothing lasts forever, and losing your air conditioning can be a major loss, especially during the summer. If it is still working fine, maybe you’re just being cautious and planning ahead. Whatever the case, Crystal Blue can tell you the signs that you’ll need an AC replacement in Elk Grove.

Here Are 6 Signs You Need an AC replacement in Elk Grove and the Surrounding Areas:

The AC reached retirement age.

How long have you owned your current AC? According to the National Association of Home Builders, well-maintained AC units can last anywhere from 10 to 15 years. If your AC has reached this point and isn’t working like it used to, it might be time to retire it. It may seem like a major cost, but don’t worry! You can use this opportunity to purchase a modern unit that’s more energy efficient.

The AC has a refrigerant leak.

A refrigerant leak is a serious problem with your AC. The leaking coolant can pose a health risk to your family and the water leakage can damage your home. It’s possible to fix serious leaks by getting a new coil, but it might be a sign you should get a new AC.

A repair would cost too much.

Sometimes replacement parts and repairs for your AC don’t justify their high costs. It gets more unappealing when you’re talking about a unit with an expired warranty. If this is the case, you should pick up a new unit and get a new warranty.

Your AC is making strange noises.

Is your AC operating louder than it normally does? AC units are supposed to run quietly, so any grinding, banging, or rattling noises are a major concern. These noises can represent something like a slipped belt or broken motor bearings. If these issues aren’t fixed quickly, you’ll have a costly repair or replacement on your hands.

The AC air isn’t cold.

If you turn on the AC and cool air doesn’t come out within a few minutes, there’s a problem. A wide variety of issues can cause this problem, like low Freon levels or a broken compressor. Whatever the case may be, it’s an obvious sign that your AC has an issue.

Your AC needs frequent repairs.

You may want to keep an AC operational for a good while through repeated repairs. However, doing this may eventually lead you to spend more than you would from getting a replacement. This is more likely if your warranty has expired and isn’t helping with repair costs.

Air purification by Crystal Blue Plumbing, Heating and Air in Sacramento, CA

Current viruses are all over the news. With more and more people becoming infected each day, the severity of illness or how many people will fall ill is still unknown at this time. For the general American public, such as workers in non-healthcare settings and where it is unlikely that work tasks create an increased risk of exposures to current viruses, the immediate health risk from any current virus is considered low. But at the same time, protecting our customers while still being able to provide home services is our goal.

Our Crystal Blue Plumbing, Heating & Air team, takes our employees and our customers safety seriously. Don’t just use any home service company, choose one that is professional and educated in truly protecting you and your home.

Coronavirus and COVID-19 preparation

Necessary Knowledge

Q: Does the CDC recommend the use of face masks to prevent exposure to current viruses?

A: No, the CDC does not recommend those who aren’t sick to wear a mask. Only those who are healthcare professionals or are actively showing symptoms need to wear masks. This is to protect others who are at risk of becoming infected.

Q: Should I be concerned about pets or other animals?

A: While it’s possible that the virus emerged from an animal source, it’s spreading from person to person. At this time, there is no evidence that companion animals including pets can spread or contract current viruses. However, since animals can spread other diseases to people, it’s always a good idea to wash your hands after being around animals.

Q: Can the current virus spread through drinking water?

A: The virus has not been detected in any drinking water. Conventional water treatment methods that use filtration and disinfection, such as those in most municipal drinking water systems, should remove or inactivate the virus.

Q: Can the virus be spread through pools and hot tubs?

A: There is no evidence that pools or hot tubs can spread any current virus.  Proper use, maintenance and cleanliness (disinfection with chlorine and bromine) should eliminate the virus.

Q: How can I prepare?

A: The best way to prepare is to store the things you need in the event of a quarantine. People should think about having daily necessities and medications to last about two weeks, in case they need to isolate. Massive stock piling of supplies is not necessary.
